- Gingerbread

- 1 cup brown sugar
- 1 cup sour milk
- 3 cups flour
- 3/4 cup molasses
- 3/4 cup shortening, melted
- 2 eggs, beaten
- 1 teaspoon baking soda
- 1 teaspoon ginger
- 1 teaspoon cinnamon
- 1/4 teaspoon salt.

- In a large bowl combine eggs, sugar, shortening and molasses. Sift
- flour, baking soda, salt, ginger, and cinnamon in another bowl. Add
- alternately with milk to first mixture. Beat until well mixed. Bake in
- a greased 9 x 13 in. pan at 375 degrees for 40-45 minutes or until a
- toothpick inserted in the middle comes out clean.
